New Beginnings

Wow. I have had a Dreamwidth account for less than 24 hours and have already:

- Uploaded 75 icons
- Subscribed to 6 users (Hi, everyone!)
- Created a community (ahem, [community profile] nail_polish , the coolest community ever)
- Joined 2 other communities
- Posted 3 times in communities

I don't think I managed to do that in a whole month on Livejournal. I really think I'm going to like it here.

I'm pretty new to the LJ-system. I have an LJ but never really used it. Why would you need/want 75 icons?

I use icons to express my interests, so having a wide variety of icons means that I get to show a lot of different sides of myself. I also use them to show certain moods, as a way of displaying how I'm feeling - for example, on a day I'm feeling cranky I'll use a sassy icon. And, some icons are really pretty, so I like being able to show them off, even if I didn't make them. Of course, icons are definitely more of a want than a need, but they've been strongly tied to my LJ experience both in different fandoms and as a graphics maker, so I'm quite attached to having a large variety of them. Does that make sense?

Edited for grammar.

Sure does. Thanks :)
